7 Point Quality Checklist for HZO Coatings

At HZO, our quality assurance team ensures that our processes and throughput are consistent so we can produce reliable results following your requirements. We’ve developed a high-level checklist of seven essential points we consider essential to deliver high-quality protection for our customers. These points are critical for HZO and any company considering thin-film protection for their products:

Pre-Coating

 1. Coating Material Review

Have the coating materials (for example, Parylene dimer) been independently tested for quality?

Major characteristics are tested to make sure that the coating materials are consistent from job to job.

 2. Masking Consumable Review

Have the consumable materials used for masking (the process of ensuring that keep-out zones such as device connectors do not get coated so that the electronic can operate reliably) been validated for the age of the material, no damage at demasking, and are from certified vendors?

A variety of products are used to mask each component, including latex gloves, UV material, and tape. Our team ensures that these products are in top-notch shape before proceeding with the coating process.

 3. Incoming Product Inspection

Has the incoming product to be coated been inspected for damage?

Our quality assurance personnel confirm that every product is operational and damage-free before coating.

Pre-Coating

 4. Masking Product Inspection

Has the product been inspected to ensure it is ready for masking?

Each product receives an additional inspection prior to the protection process to ensure optimal masking if needed.

Post-Coating

 5. Coated Component Inspection

Has the component been inspected after coating?

Although our deposition processes involve proven, repeatable processes like chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD), we know how important it is to ensure that the coating on each component is defect-free to provide complete protection.

Post-Coating

 6. AQL Inspection

Has the AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) inspection been performed?

The HZO quality assurance team uses optical inspection equipment to magnify the device and thoroughly analyze the coated components. This can be done manually or using artificial intelligence and machine learning.

 7. Outstanding Issues Resolution

If there are any outstanding issues, have they been addressed?

On the off chance that anything has gone awry, it is caught by one of our inspection stations. In this case, our team goes into a rework process to guarantee your promised protection.
