United trumps independence. That’s the way the Scottish people saw it last Thursday when they voted to stay with the United Kingdom rather than go their own way, and that’s the way HZO sees too. HZO believes in strength created through a diverse workforce and our team hails from all over the world, 15 countries to be exact, and we even have a Scotsman. Today in HZO Faces we are profiling our resident Scot, James Tosh.
Tosh, as we fondly refer to him, is one of our technical application experts on the consumer electronics team. He came to HZO via RIM (Blackberry) and applies his electronics knowledge to quickly rough out plans for marrying HZO technology to complex consumer devices. Tosh spends long days tearing down and studying intricate electronic components and assemblies and calculating the most effective path to dust, water, and corrosion proof solutions for customer products.
A few added dimensions to Tosh, the guy with the thick Scottish brogue (cue: sometimes even we need subtitles):
If you could go ANYWHERE, where would you go?
Into space, would love to look down and see how small earth is in relation to space.
What do you do on the weekend?
Teach my children how to play football, or soccer as they call it.
What is something that really baffles you?
When our daughter’s homework gets marked, wrong answers get a checkmark. Everywhere else in the world we have been, a checkmark (tick) means correct…….
What is the best advice you ever got?
Shy bairns get nothing (which means “if you don’t ask, the answer is always no”.)
